"What fresh hell is this?" was how Parker answered the phone. It was Ogden Nash who wrote the short poem "On Breaking the Ice." It went, "Candy is dandy/But liquor is quicker." Pretty much any funny thing that's been said in the last century has been attributed to Parker, but she only actually said most of them.
